Privacy Policy

Tee is a golf GPS and scorecard app. This policy explains exactly what data the app collects, how it is collected, what it is used for, who else receives it, how long it is kept, and how you can withdraw consent or delete everything.

Tee is operated by an independent developer. Throughout this policy, "we" and "us" refer to the developer of Tee, reachable at ffuensalida@icloud.com.

1. What we collect and why

What we do not collect

We do not collect your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, health data or calendar.
We do not use any advertising SDK, and we show no ads.
We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA). The app therefore never asks for tracking permission.
We do not sell, rent or trade your data. Ever. There is no business model here that involves your data.
We do not build advertising or marketing profiles.

2. How location is handled specifically

Location is the most sensitive thing Tee touches, so here is exactly what happens to it:

Permission is only "while using the app". Tee never requests background or "always" location, and stops receiving updates as soon as you leave the app.
Distance calculations happen entirely on your device. The number you see on the play screen is computed locally. Your position is not sent anywhere to produce it.
Your coordinates are sent to OpenWeatherMap to fetch the current wind and temperature at the course, which is what makes the Smart Caddy's "plays like" distance work. This happens only during a round, and at most once every few minutes.
Your coordinates are sent to Apple when the app converts your position into a nearby place name so it can suggest courses near you. This uses Apple's own on-device and server geocoding and is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
We do not store a history of where you have been. Your live position is held in memory while the app is open and then discarded. The only coordinates written to our database are the green locations you deliberately choose to save.
Tee works without location. If you decline the permission, you can still add courses, keep score, browse your statistics and manage your bag. Only the live distance readout and the nearest-course sorting are unavailable.

3. Who else receives your data

Tee uses a small number of third-party services. We only share what each one needs to do its job, and each is contractually bound by its own terms to provide protection of your data at least equal to what this policy commits to. We do not permit any of them to use your data for their own advertising or profiling.

4. What other golfers can see

Tee is mostly a private app, but two things are deliberately shared:

In a group round, the other players in that round see your display name and your score. That is the entire point of the shared scoreboard. They do not see your email, your location, your bag, your other rounds or your statistics.
Green locations are shared. When you pin a green, that pin becomes available to other golfers who play the same course, so nobody has to map the same hole twice. The pin is stored against the hole and is not attributed to you.

Nothing else you enter is visible to another user. Your scores from solo rounds, your statistics, your club distances and your course library are yours alone.

5. How long we keep your data

Your account and its data are kept for as long as your account exists.
If you delete your data but keep your account, your rounds, scores and group memberships are erased immediately and permanently.
If you delete your account, everything above is erased and the account record itself is removed immediately and permanently.
Green pins you contributed remain on the shared course map after deletion, because other golfers depend on them and they are not linked to your identity.
We keep no backups of deleted accounts beyond our hosting provider's standard, time-limited infrastructure snapshots, which roll off automatically.

6. Your rights and how to exercise them

Deleting your data or your account

Both are available inside the app, with no need to email anyone: Settings → Delete all my data and Settings → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. Full instructions are on the account deletion page.

Withdrawing consent

Location: turn it off any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Tee. The app keeps working without it.
Everything else: deleting your account withdraws all consent and removes all associated data.

Access, correction and portability

You can see and edit your data inside the app. If you want a copy of everything we hold about you, or a correction we do not expose in the interface, email ffuensalida@icloud.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK, this covers your rights under the GDPR; if you are in California, it covers your rights under the CCPA.

7. Children

Tee is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.

8. Security

All traffic between the app and our services is encrypted in transit with HTTPS/TLS. Access to your records is enforced at the database level by row-level security policies, so one account cannot read another account's rounds, scores, clubs or course library. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes by our authentication provider and are never visible to us.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where the change affects how your data is used, ask for your consent again in the app before it takes effect.
